I wrote it out of something I continue to see both culturally and clinically — the quiet crisis of fatherlessness and the absence of grounded male mentorship.

In the piece, I reflect on a powerful parallel: what happens to young male elephants when they grow up without mature bulls to guide them — and what that might reveal about men who grow up without steady masculine presence.
